Merlot: a variety of red grape vine that blossoms early. The bunches are cylindrical and not very dense. Each grape is small, thick-skinned, with a blue-black colour and sweet flesh. It belongs to the same family as The Cabernet.

The vineyards are situated in Sant Salvador de Guardiola (Bages, central Catalunya) and part of the "Fundació Ampans" which provides work and social opportunities for those with intellectual disability.
Controlled fermentation at 26ºC with specially selected yeast.
10 days maceration using pigéage (punch-down) and daily devatting.
Malolactic Fermentation (secondary fermentation): in a stainless steel tank.
Barrels of 1 to 3 years old.
70% French Oak, 20% American Oak and 10% European Oak.
Ageing period: 12 months in barrel and 1 year in a bottle.
Appearance: Cherry red with hints of vivid lively scarlet.
On the nose, dominant aromas of fresh fruit, with a highlight of blackcurrants and blackberrys on a background of confiture, cocoa and mineral nuances. An evolution of balsamic notes give an overall freshness.
In the mouth the wine is powerful and lingering, the volume of which gives elegance to the mature tannins, continuing the notes of confiture and cocoa and tobacco leaf.
