D.O.Q. Priorat. Limited production wine (2015)
L'Interrogant is made from three grape varieties: Grenache is planted on land with earthy stone boulders, white Carignan on clay and limestone soil on a plot at altitude which provides it with more acidity and freshness to give it life and Cabernet which lies at the foot of the mountain "Damunt Roca" where the soil is red clay, surrounded by pine trees and herbs such as rosemary and thyme.
L'Interrogant is achieved by tending vines of between 15 and 25 years old without chemical treatment. It is found in the village of El Lloar (Priorat) at an altitude of between 200 and 220 meters. Thanks to the small plots with different soil and different levels it allows for different ripening periods.
41% Carignan, 41% Grenache, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon
Each variety is vinified separately until its final blend. Once harvested the grapes are kept cold for 2-3 days to extract all the primary aromas. When the fermentation process starts, the temperature is controlled and two daily "pigeage" are performed until the optimum flavour is obtained.
Aged in French oak barrels resting on the bedrock of the cellar where the humidity causes malolactic fermentation spontaneously and naturally. After about eight or nine months, going by the taste and smell, the blend is made in stainless steel vats where they will be for 15-20 days for cold tartaric stabilization.
Alcohol 15% vol.
The nose is fresh, fruity and elegant. A nice combination of dairy and red fruit aromas with spicy notes and hints of softwood give way to notes of coffee and chocolate. The palate is soft, fresh and has a nice creamy texture. Well integrated acidity and ripe tannins.
Serving temperature: 16º-18º.
